Weekend Update

This past weekend was busy, busy. On Friday I went to Nashville to celebrate the last few days of a single Ashley Bott. We had the best time! That night we went to dinner at Flyte.

But not before Ashley gave us a sneak preview of her 80s bachelorette outfit for the next night since I wouldn't get to see it! Unfortunately, you can't see the crazy lights on the hat in the pic!

I've never seen a bachelorette look more beautiful in her garb!

After dinner, we had a lingerie party in the room complete with a beautiful cake.

I'm a bride!!

Her sister, Kristin, rocking her MOH duties

For every question Ashley didn't match with Justin, she had to put in a piece of gum...

And she might have missed a few...

Yum

Saturday after brunch outside Dave and Busters

Unfortunately, after that I had to hightail it back to Birmingham for my very last Barrister's Ball. I was terrible and didn't take any pictures somehow but I swiped these from some other people!

After two late nights, Jackson and I spent Sunday relaxing. We took Rosie to Jemison to swim.

Clearly, she loves it! You cannot keep her out of the water. I cannot wait to take her back up to the lake!

Rascal Day!

Everybody's favorite day of Law Week at Cumberland is Rascal Day. You might be thinking, what is rascal day? Well I'll tell you.

The celebration honors a mongrel pup named Rascal. According to tradition, Rascal faithfully attended classes at the law school’s former campus location in Lebanon, Tennessee, beginning in 1933, until he was presented with the rare degree of doctor of canine jurisprudence in 1937. Legend holds, that his diploma was awarded in recognition of the hundreds of classes and mock trials at which his attendance had been difficult to ignore. When he passed away in 1940, Rascal was buried beneath the window of the classroom where he had spent so much time.

When Cumberland School of Law moved to Birmingham in 1961, Rascal’s tombstone and a few spadefuls of dirt from his grave were brought to Samford's campus and reinterred on the west side of Robinson Hall. Each year, a procession of two- and four-legged creatures passes by Rascal’s grave to commemorate one of the law school's most memorable graduates.

Thursday was Rosie's first Rascal day. She loved roaming the halls and meeting new friends.

The staff put out water buckets for all the dogs. Rosie thought they were for swimming.

Pretty girl

Lucky to go to law school at such a beautiful place.

Rosie went to Bioethics with me. She even spoke up at appropriate times. I think she would make a great lawyer!

Rosie hid under the desk some though (and tried to eat dried gum from under it)

Everybody started to show up for the parade and lunch.

Rosie met and LOVED the other Rosie.

We're the 3 best friends that anybody could have

Pumped that Jackson came to see her at school

Hannah came to see the chaos.

And so did Sally.

Hannah and Rosie love each other.

We had a great time at our first and final Rascal Day together!!

Weekend Update

This past weekend Jackson, Rosie, and I were all on the Road. Jackson went back to Ozark for the annual boyscout skeet shoot. His team (Brandon, him, Parker, and Adam) are pictured below.

Although their team didn't place, Parker won a gun in the random number selection shoot-off where they pick a number and if you shot that many you participate in a shoot-off to win a gun. Jackson was happy though because he won against all of his brothers and his dad!

Rosie and I went with my family to a cold (but warmer than Bham or Haleyville) Ft Walton. Rosie rode for the first time using her doggy seat belt like this. I was worried because she usually rides in a travel crate but she has long since outgrown hers. I'm sold! It was so nice for her to not feel caged but also not be able to be in my lap.

On Friday I rode down with my parents to Rosemary beach. Rosie enjoyed exploring!

She is annoyed with me taking her picture all the time and always tries to look away now. Here is great action shot of her giving me the cold shoulder complete with hair whipping and slobber.

Then we went by my parents lot in Seacrest. I am so excited for them to have a house down there sometime soon!

Rosie loves 30a because she gets beach time without me being afraid of fines. It was a little cloudy Friday but she had a great time digging, chasing seagulls, and avoiding eye contact with the camera!

Saturday was a bit sunnier so Scott and my parents took Hannah to play in the sand for a bit. She loved it!

Scott built perfect sandcastles and Hannah would smash them and then say "Again!"

How many toys will fit on here?

Rosie finally smiled for the camera!!

I'm thinking they should ask me to take pics for postcards. Who wouldn't want to go here?

Check back soon for a Rascal Day post. Rosie's first day of law school!!
